Flattr, a Swedish based micro donation provider has announced that it will be supporting Bitcoin. This Peter Sunde and Linus Olsson founded company that came in existence in March 2010 is going to play a vital role as now it has added partial support for Bitcoin i.e. people can now fund their account with the crypto currency to pay small amounts (micro donations).
According to a source from the organization when someone is opening a Flattr account with Bitcoin, he needs to go to ‘the Add funds’ page and choose Bitcoin. The source also reveals that Danish Startup BIPS, located in Copenhagen, is handling the Bitcoin payment. The organization is also mulling a plan to adding the option to withdraw in Bitcoins; however, for now it is just gauging its community’s desires.
Modus Operandi of Flattr
To pay a small amount user needs to click Flattr buttons on sites to share their money among those sites. According to the company sources adding money to a Flattr account, and withdrawing revenue from a Flattr account through PayPal and Moneybookers is being done unabatedly; however, now with the addition of Bitcoin, it will be highly useful feature for customers.
Apart from PayPal and Moneybookers and now Bitcoin, Flattr also helps customers add money and withdraw revenue via several credit cards from Visa, EC and MasterCard. Financial news analysts consider that Flattr’s decision to support Bitcoin was expected as the newly founded organization is not leaving any stone unturned for greater acceptance providing multiple options for payment and withdrawals to customers.
