As Libertarians and others as well believe that all wars have ultimately served the purpose of bankers, even Roger Ver believes that with limited expansion of Bitcoin, these bankers won’t have opportunities to influence the state affairs and there won’t be any wars. He thinks that limited growth of Bitcoin can stop governments from waging wars.
Recently, Roger Ver gave a presentation at Coin Congress in Singapore on “Why Bitcoin is Important for the World,” wherein he said that the world that uses Bitcoin would be much safer as according to him a lot of conflict in the world is financial in nature. His opinion has been shared by various other bankers as well including former MD of Goldman Sachs.
The bright moment of the presentation by Roger Ver came at the end of the speech wherein he talked about what in Bitcoin has most excited him and how the digital currency is going to change the world for the better. Coming from someone who has been heavily influenced by Libertarianism, the views are not surprising for many.
In fact, Roger Ver, who runs what was one of the first mainstream sites to take Bitcoin payments, MemoryDealers, has strong opinions about the roles bankers and finance companies are playing in national and global affairs. For instance, he accuses that fiat currency was to blame for Governments’ penchant for raging wars overseas.
Governments are Printing Currencies to Fund War, Bitcoin Will Stop This
According to Ver the governments not only control fiat, they can print as much of it as they want at any time which he saw the United States Government doing a lot in the past. He says that printing money like crazy and then using that money to buy all sorts of tanks and bombs and airplanes and murder people all over the world has been a major issue recently.
He says that all that is being paid for by printing money; however, with Bitcoin, because there is a limited supply, that sort of thing can’t happen. This feature has been appreciated by many other intellectuals as well and according to Ver Bitcoin’s inability to be printed at will, will prevent governments from using printed money to fund warfare.
Roger Ver believes that if a government uses Bitcoin as legal tender then they would have to find a different way to fund any war and this can definitely auger well for the global peace which needs a chance.
