Bruce Fenton Becomes the Executive Director of the Bitcoin Foundation

In an announcement the Bitcoin Foundation says that it is welcoming the new Executive Director, Bruce Fenton. Showing his happiness even Bruce Fenton admitted that he is pleased to step into this new role to strengthen the Foundation and continue to work with individual and industry members. This is expected to give much respite for the warring factions in the Bitcoin Foundation.

According to the press release the Bitcoin Foundation Board had a vote of 5 ayes to 1 abstain to support Bruce in taking on this role. Bruce Fenton is a Lifetime Member of the Bitcoin Foundation and in the opinion of the board is the best candidate for the job. He is an investor, consultant and advisor in the Bitcoin space.

Also, he is the organizer of the Dubai Bitcoin Conference and the Satoshi Roundtable retreat. Talking about his credentials the announcement release says that he is the founder of Atlantic Financial which, in 1994, became the first full-service investment firm to use the Internet. Prior to Atlantic Financial, Bruce was with Morgan Stanley and specialized in emerging technologies and emerging markets.

Coming with rich backgrounds wherein he also worked as Managing Director of a company which focuses on emerging markets, economic, Bitcoin and tech consulting, Bruce has completed over $4.5 billion in transactions and served as a consultant to large investment funds, a top tier private equity firm, high net worth individuals and families.

Wants to Give New Direction to the Bitcoin Foundation

The Bitcoin Foundation says that as Bruce served as an advisor to one of the world’s largest charitable organizations for Gulf engagement, his experience will be valuable for the new organization. IT claims that as Bruce travels extensively and has lived in the US, the Middle East and Asia, this globetrotter will be the right candidate for the job.

Talking to media professionals Fenton stressed that his greatest asset to the Bitcoin Foundation would be his ability to serve as a “bridge” between the organization’s individual and corporate members. According to him his full-time position as CEO of Atlantic Financial and involvement in Bitcoin as a technology enthusiast was a major factor behind his selection for the job.

Nonetheless, Fenton says that he will be able to give new direction to the Bitcoin Foundation which has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. He said he is going to do everything he can to make sure it stays in the black.
