AT&T To Offer Lumia 830, Is it The Time to Buy the Stock?



AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) closed exactly near its 20-Day EMA of $34.66, However one positive thing based on charts is that the momentum indicators shows that the stock is a buy. The stock has strong support near $34 and $33.50.

If the users of network AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) are bored with the restricted options to pick from the Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Lumia offerings, they have a good news now as the company has finally decided to bring in new range of Lumia 830 on shelves later this year. Uptil now AT&T Inc.(NYSE:T) users had only two options to choose from, one being the tiny Lumia 635 or the other Lumia 1520. There was no mid-range option and so AT&T has stuck the right chord with its announcement of availability of Lumia 830. There has to be some wait before the users could get their new Lumia 835 in hands, while the price range of the new member is expected to fall within the pricing slots of 635 and 1,520.

Affordable Flagship

Meanwhile, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s SVP of Devices and Servers, Stephen Elop said that AT&T will offer the new Lumia 830 just on time that is during the holiday season. Microsoft uncovered the new Lumia just last week categorizing it as an “affordable flagship”, which is bundled with all the advanced features and is price competitive, being offered at an unsubsidized rate of $430. Lumia 830 will be the first thinnest and sleek offering from Microsoft, which will come with 1 Mp front facing camera and will accompany Cortana virtual assistant.

Not Giving Up

Besides showcasing Lumia 830, Microsoft also unveiled two other phones that is Lumia 730 and Lumia 735, the phones that are meant for selfie obsessed people. The three launches that are to be shipped from September has prompted the Current Analysis analyst, Avi Greengart to believe that Microsoft is expanding the definition of flagship. The affordable launches signify the company’s interest to reach out to those markets, where consumers are not convinced to spend much on expensive phones, but are willing to experience the Windows Phone. Microsoft has been struggling to get its position in the mobile ecosystem as it saw its shipments drop 9% to 7.4 million in the second quarter of the year, but certainly the company is not giving up.
