Bitcoin Foundation has announced that Peter Vessenes is leaving the company as CEO and Jon Matonis will be taking his place. Announcing the new CEO, Bitcoin Foundation informs that Matonis’ work experience and passion for Bitcoin will combine into something awesome to bring better results in the next couple of years.
The exiting CEO Jon Matonis admitted that Jon will help in managing and growing the organization. He also opines that now he will be able to contribute in strategizing, building relationships, fundraising and speaking. On the other hand, Matonis admitted that he is feeling proud about the elevation and believes that Bitcoin can bring new discourse to the political and economic concept on monetary freedom.
The New Measure is to Enhance Bitcoin’s Presence and Acceptability
Bitcoin Foundation is all set to provide assistance to all those involved in Bitcoin and even education to who are not. Also, the foundation is going to offer assistance in Bitcoin-related legal cases wherever it feels the requirements e.g. pro bono legal defence and others. What all it aims is to get acceptance from the larger community in the world.
Matonis who is also serving as a board director at Tradehill talking with CoinDesk said that the foundation is actively looking at having a strong NGO presence and focal point in the EU region by the end of the year.
Taking a cue from the history of the technologies that were unacceptable for many at some point of time later became popular and acceptable,
Matonis is hopeful that like those against file sharing and BitTorrent technology were on the wrong side of history, so too are the institutional forces opposed to unfettered Bitcoin growth.
