In its attempt to educate lawmakers of the country, Robocoin, the manufacturer of Bitcoin ATMs has invited them all at Capitol Hill. The much awaited moment is going to be held the next week. The members of Congress will get a chance to do what others have been doing and get the first hand experience and put forward their opinions as well.
According to Robocoin, it sent invitation to congressional offices on Tuesday and expects higher turnout. In its invitation the company asked the lawmakers that they are being invited to a demonstration of Robocoin, the world’s first Bitcoin kiosk for buying and selling the popular and controversial digital currency.
Robocoin requested the lawmakers that they should come and watch a demo and try buying Bitcoin. Their act according to the company will be a great fun and at the same time help them understand the efforts it has put to follow the guidelines issued by the government e.g. Know-your-customer/Anti-money laundering compliance in Bitcoin.
The invitation from Robocoin claims that when the lawmakers themselves experience how the Bitcoin ATM works, they would understand that it follows everything that has been asked by the government regarding anti-fraud, anti-identify theft and anti-money laundering. Robocoin says that the Bitcoin ATMs from his company are custom build for customer protection in the new age.
Lawmakers Can Scrutinize the Bitcoin ATM for Compliance
To be held on April 8 at the Rayburn House Office Building, the Bitcoin ATM demonstration is expected to answer numerous questions that the lawmakers in the country have, particularly after the debacles like Silk Road and Mt. Gox. A lot of issues have been raised by the regulatory bodies in the US on the future of Bitcoin; however, a lot of this has to do with misunderstanding.
The latest effort on the part of Robocoin is to put forward its point and educate the lawmakers and tell them that their ill-conceived notions do not hold ground. Several statements came from some Congressmen who sought for a ban on Bitcoin. However, the latest guidelines from the IRS say that Bitcoin will be seen as property and taxed accordingly.
Robocoin has several Bitcoin ATMs installed at several places in the US and they are running successfully. The Bitcoin ATMs from Robocoin one in Mountain View, California and another in Austin, Texas are running successfully and offering convenient services for customers.
