ForexMinute.com – Bitcoin tipping service ChangeTip recently added Facebook to its list of supported platforms.
In its announcement, the San Francisco-based company said that their extension into Facebook tipping is the result of growing demand from customers. ChangeTip was already providing similar services to other social media outlets like Twitter and Reddit.
The company meanwhile also mentioned some limitations customers are likely to face with the Facebook platform. They never elaborate these “We know this is not the experience you have been expecting, but it is the best we are able to do given the limitations in working with Facebook’s platform,” ChangeTip quoted.
As the service is now in effect, users with genuine Facebook credentials can access the ChangeTip Bitcoin tipping service via its website changetip.com. There they can select friends and tip them accordingly. Once a tip is sent, the receiver gets the detailing on his/her timeline. To receive tips however, the receiver will be asked to log in through ChangeTip as well.
Does it Help Bitcoin?
Yes, in a very big way indeed! One has to see the huge flock Facebook currently leads. The social media platform had earlier recorded 757 million daily and 1.23 billion monthly users. Bitcoin, on the other hand, is still an experimental currency for most of the business sector, possibly because of the lack of user adoption. ChangeTip, with its new service, has taken a step forward in connecting Bitcoiners with non-Bitcoiners. Bitcoin’s presence is surely going to increase with time.
Once Pantera Capital CEO Dan Morehead was found quoting that “tipping is likely to be Bitcoin’s first killer app – seamlessly integrated into social media, enabling people to send money in a free, fun, instantaneous way without borders or minimums…This could have a huge impact on bitcoin adoption.” It seems like the Bitcoin industry is on the right path after all.
