Amid the speculations of Alpha Technology developing the first Litecoin ASIC Miner, the renowned UK based technology firm has announced itself to take pre-orders for the miners by the first week of January 2014.
The announcement comes at the right time when Litecoins are soaring high as a better alternative to the leading digital currency Bitcoins. Alpha Technology signed an important deal with Indian designer and manufacturer Dexcel Designs – which further had the two initiating the development of Viper Miner. While the former will be providing the mining and security expertise, the latter will be handling the hardware development involved in the manufacturing and quality-check.
As suggested by a spokesperson of Alpha Technology, Viper Miner will have two model 5Mh/s and 25Mh/s which will available for pre-order by the first week of January 2014. The models will be highly efficient for not only manufacturing Litecoins but also all the Scrypt crypto currencies.
The miners are made on the footsteps of Bitcoin mining hardware, known for making many people millionaires that actually took off the unnecessary power consumptions from regular graphic cards and GPUs. The Litecoins miner however will see a significant increase in calculating power consumed in backing the Litecoins network.
